Flexitronics, Agilent, NIIT, win HR awards

Our Corporate Bureau New Delhi
NIIT, Flextronics Ltd (Hughes Software) and Agilent Technologies have won the Watson Wyatt Award for excellence in innovative HR (human resource) practice.

A total of nine companies were short listed by Watson Wyatt and Delhi Management Association out of the many participants across the sectors from NCR of Delhi.

Five key HR practices like staffing and selection, training and development, performance management, rewards and recognition, culture and work environment were rated to choose the companies with best HR practices.

As a part of the selection process, a participating organisation was initially required to fill up a self-assessment questionnaire, highlighting one significant practice that has been innovative and extremely successful in the organisation.

The next phase involved validation of the practice identified through a dipstick survey of the employees across the shortlisted organisations.

These statistical and qualitative results were followed up by the companies making presentations to a panel of judges. These, in turn, were evaluated to select the winners in innovative HR practices.

Aarti Karajgikar, marketing head, Watson Wyatt India, said, "We at Watson Wyatt are in constant search for 'best practices' that support and are in total alignment with business strategy. We have found these awards to be a great learning opportunity. Besides, they also lend a competitive advantage when it comes to dealing with our clients."

The panel of judges included, Richard Saldanha of Times of India, Prof Venkataratnam of IMI, J C Jhuraney of Samtel, Udai Upendra of Ranbaxy Laboratories and Anirudh Limaye of Daksh.

The Delhi Management Association's Watson Wyatt Award for Excellence in Innovative HR Practice is into its third year. In the first year, the award was won by J K Corp and last year it had gone to Baxter India.
