| HDFC Bank, as a part of its concerted strategy to build its leadership and brand equity in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Micro Finance segments, has partnered with Mumbai-based Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research to introduce a niche course on SME Banking for Post Graduate students specialising in Business Administration. |
| The 39-hour SME Banking module, with its first batch of 24 students, is India's first-ever classroom and on-site training for the students of the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. |
| The course curriculum has been jointly designed by HDFC BANK and Welingkar Institute as per the requirement of the industry and the overall MBA programme. Students who have passed the 100 marks Credit course on Fundamentals of Banking are eligible for the SME Banking course. |
| The faculty comprises of six officials from HDFC Bank, two from Welingkar as also two SME business personalities who would specially present their individual case studies |
| Pro C centre in Pune |
| Pro C Education Pvt Ltd recently opened its Pune centre to impart specialised training to aspirants of MBA admissions and candidates for GRE / GMAT. Pro C will also prepare final year engineering students to face campus recruitment sessions, said Nagesh Banchhor, director. This is sixth Pro C centre in the country, he said. |
| Pratap Gupta, chief mentor for Pro C in Pune said the candidates for CAT for the Indian Institutes of Management will undergo 400 hours of training over a period of one year. In addition to training in the three examination papers of CAT, the candidates will be given training in personality development and presentation skills he said. |
| Storage computing' course from TCS |
| Tata Consultancy Services and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) have announced they will collaborate to promote higher education and research in storage computing and related technologies. |
| As part of the collaboration, the duo signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a post-graduate course on "Storage Computing Architecture". |
| The MoU also covers joint research projects that are relevant to address the technology and business needs of the booming global storage industry, including TCS customers in this space. |
| TCS will sponsor students for the new storage computing course at IIT Kanpur and provide project work for the students. TCS will also establish a storage computing laboratory at IIT Kanpur. |
