ICFAI programme for practising managers

Drawing upon its vast experience and 400-odd faculty spread across 14 centres in India, the business school of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) has launched a tailored-made management development programme (MDP) for practising managers at the middle-management level aimed at improving their work culture and help them update current business practices.
 
Explaining the MDP, D S Murthy, director, ICFAI Business School (IBS), said, "Changing business environment along with the need to update to move up along the value chain has necessitated practising managers to enhance their skills. The MDP caters to the requirement of the corporate and is custom-designed for them."
 
The programmes on offer are in the broad areas of general management and strategy, financial management, marketing management, human resource management, operations management and information technology, he said.
 
Companies for which IBS has conducted MDPs include Coromandel Fertilisers Limited, Gulf Oil Corporation Limited and Natco Pharma.
 
R S R Murty, senior manager-country operations, ICFAI University, said, "Currently, we are conducting MDP for the AP circle of Tata Teleservices Limited and Vijay Electricals Limited. We have also been approached by Wipro and Godavari Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (GFCL) to conduct MDPs for them."
 
The IBS so far has conducted 14 such programmes for six companies since April 2005.
