Students to showcase their tech prowess

Backed by top IT companies like ITC Infotech, IBM, TCS, Nokia and Onmobile, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore, is holding a national level technical symposium, 'Technologix-06' here from Thursday.
 
Organised by the Computer Society of India (CSI) SJCE student branch, Technologix is serving as a platform for students across the country to showcase their technical prowess and compete with the best.
 
Exposing students to the real world technical scenario and bridging the gap between the industry and institute, the annual event has been receiving support and participation from the big industries.
 
The chapter was the first to introduce management case studies in the Technologix besides having a real world software scenario discussion, says CSI-SJCE Student Branch chairman T Harish.
 
Apart from the traditional paper presentation contest, it will have participants from Bangalore, Chennai, and Kerala in events like Laksha - a management case study, Imagine - a real world software scenario, Bugsy - a software design contest, Breadboard - a hardware design contest, Bulls and Bears - a virtual stock market. Industry leaders will be delivering lectures on cutting edge technologies.
 
The event will be inaugurated by Nokia Engineering head Pratap Simha. Others to participate in the inaugural function will be Excelsoft managing director Sudhanva, ITC Infotech vice-president (Technology) S Janardhan, SJCE principal B G Sangameshwara and student counsellor T N Nagabhushana. Around 400 students from across the country are expected to participate.
