Aluminium falls almost 1% on global cues

Prices fell as speculators offloaded their positions

Aluminium futures for March declined by  Re 1, or 0.95% to Rs 103.85 per kg in 608 lots.     

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April contract traded lower by 95 paise, or 0.89% to Rs 105.60 per kg in 50 lots.

Prices fell as speculators offloaded their positions.

Weak trend in the global markets due to unprecedented levy on bank deposits in Cyprus that threatened to plunge Europe back into crisis curbed demand for metals.

At the London Metal Exchange (LME), Aluminium fell 0.8% to $1,964 a tonne.
