Aluminium futures trade higher on spot demand

Aluminium prices inched up by 0.60 per cent to Rs 99.15 per kg in futures trading today on fresh positions created by speculators after a rise in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, aluminium prices inched up by Rs 0.60, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 99.15 per kg, with an open interest of 3,110 lots.

The metal for delivery in October month also traded higher by Rs 0.60, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 100.20 per kg, with an open interest of 153 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market mainly led to a rise in aluminium prices at futures trade.
