Asian markets mirror US, gain in early trades

Asian markets are in the green this morning, mirroring gains in US markets. Positive cues came as US manufacturing data calmed worries about the global economy.

The Hang Seng has jumped 1.2% at 20,871. Nikkei has gained 1.2% at 9,036.

Taiwan Weighted has added 1% at 7,748. The Shanghai Composite has advanced 0.7% to 2,643.

The Seoul Composite and the Straits Times are also trading in the positive zone, albeit with smaller gains.
