Asian markets open mixed

Taking a cue from the developments in the US markets overnight, the Asian indices have opened mixed.

Hang Seng is quoting at 23,240, stronger by 33 points or 0.1% and the Nikkei has opened at 9,504, lower by 84 points or 0.8%.

Seoul Composite is quoting at 1,873, weaker by 17 points or 0.9%, Taiwan Weighted is at 8,136, lower by 40 points or 0.5%

Straits Times and Shanghai Composite  are flat at 3,160 and 2,809 respectively.
