Asian markets tumble; Nikkei drops 416pts

Asian markets have tumbled across the board on the back of unbated negative cues from the US markets.

The Hang Seng has slumped 1,337 points to 16,301. The Nikkei has plunged 416 points to 11,337.

The Taiwan Weighted index has crumbled 210 points to 5,590. The Straits Times index has shed 107 points at 2,312, and the Seoul Composite index has dropped 50 points to 1,375.

The Shanghai Composite index has cracked 113 points to 1,816.
