Cardamom futures weaken on profit taking

Cardamom futures prices fell by Rs 15, or 1.59 per cent, to Rs 927.20 per kg today, as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels amid subdued demand in the spot market.

Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for January delivery declined by Rs 15, or 1.59 per cent, to Rs 927.20 per kg, with a business turnover of four lots, while December delivery fell by Rs 14.80, or 1.57 per cent, to Rs 925 per kg in 63 lots.

Similarly, cardamom futures for November delivery eased by Rs 2.90, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 960 per kg, with a trading volume of 107 lots.
