Crude palm oil prices moved up by Rs 5.80 to Rs 562.50 per 10 kg in futures trading today on fresh buying by traders and expectations of a rise in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for February contract moved up by Rs 5.80, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 562.50 per 10 kg, with a business volume of a single lot.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March contract traded higher by Rs 5.50, or 0.99 per cent, to Rs 563.40 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of one lot.

Market analysts said fresh buying by traders in anticipation of rise in demand in the spot market mainly pushed up the crude palm oil prices.
