BHEL and Reliance Infrastructure have soared 5.5% each to Rs 1,590 and Rs 908, respectively.
ITC and ICICI Ban have surged 4.8% each to Rs 188 and Rs 675, respectively.
Tata Steel and Wipro have rallied over 4.5% each to Rs 626 and Rs 390, respectively.
HDFC Bank has advanced over 4% to Rs 1,129. Reliance Communications has moved up 3.7% to Rs 463.
SBI and Ranbaxy have gained 3.3% each at Rs 1,392 and Rs 473, respectively.
Hindalco, HDFC and TCS are up 3% each at Rs 147, Rs 2,146 and Rs 837, respectively.
Maruti has plunged 8% to Rs 596. Tata Motors has tumnbled over 3% to Rs 407, and Bharti Airtel has shed 1.5% at Rs 786.
Out of 2,397 stocks traded, 1,780 have advanced, 549 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
