HCL Infosystems rallies nearly 20% on heavy volumes

Since Feb 3, the stock has rallied 67% to Rs 39.90 from Rs 23.80 after promoter increase its stake in the company via open market.

HCL Infosystems rallied 19.5% to Rs 39.90 on back of heavy volumes on Friday. Shares of computer hardware maker has zoomed 22% from intra-day low of Rs 32.65 touched on NSE in early morning trades. Till 1450 hours, a combined 12.54 million shares changed hands on the counter against an average sub 8 million shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on the NSE and BSE.

Meanwhile, the stock has surged 67% in past one and half months from Rs 23.80 on February 3, after Shiv Nadar family-run firm Vama Sundari Investments (Delhi) increased its stake in the company via open market.

Since February 3, Vama Sundari Investments (Delhi) has bought 644,758 shares or 0.29% stake in HCL Infosystems, according to exchange filings.

Vama Sundari Investments (Delhi), which hold 43.84% stake in HCL technologies, had no stake in HCL Infosystems till the end of December 2013 quarter.
