Housing data boosts US markets; Satyam zooms 21%

An optimistic housing data lifted Wall Street as shares of construction companies gained.

The Dow added 19 points to 8,741. The Nasdaq moved up eight points to 1,837.

Indian ADRs were mostly in the green.

Satyam zoomed 21% to $2.75. Patni Computers soared 13% to $11.4.

Sterlite, Infosys and Tata Motors added 2% each to $14.44, $36.39 and $10.34, respectively.

On the other hand, Dr Reddy's and Tata Communications slipped 3% each to $13.14 and $19.2, respectively.
