Investors book profits in heavyweights ahead of Budgets

Ignoring some of the positive macroeconomic data, markets remained volatile to end the week lower as investors booked profits in index heavyweights ahead of the rail and Union Budgets. Global markets, too, remained volatile ahead of the weekend G20 meeting. Four of the six fund managers were active during the review period. (Click here for tables)

Prabhakar added Bharat Forge and Hindustan Unilever to his portfolio. His current top holdings include Karur Vysya Bank, Thermax, Bharat Forge, Cummins India and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories. Prabhakar’s net worth is at Rs 10.60 lakh, up 6 per cent.
 

SHARDUL KULKARNI
Head, Technical Research, Angel Broking
Kulkarni was inactive for the week. Currently, his portfolio consists of only three stocks—Hindustan Unilever, Shree Renuka Sugars and NTPC. Kulkarni’s net worth is at Rs 11.79 lakh, up 17.91 per cent.

NAVEEN FERNANDES

Fernandes made a single move during the week with a sell on DLF. His current top holdings include Karur Vysya Bank, MRF, ITC, Nesco and Tata Motors. Fernandes’ net worth is at Rs 11.48 lakh, up 14.81 per cent.

Ostwal added State Bank of India to his portfolio, which currently consists of Karnataka Bank, Reliance Industries, IndianOil Corp, Power Finance Corp and Tata Motors. Ostwal’s net worth is at Rs 10.83 lakh, up 8.32 per cent.

SACHIN SHAH

Shah was inactive during the week. His current top holdings include Cipla, ICICI Bank, Divis Laboratories, Biocon and Infosys. Shah’s net worth is at Rs 11.03 lakh, up 10.30 per cent.

TAHER BADSHAH

Taher Badshah, senior vice-president and co-head equities, Motilal Oswal AMC- PMS Badshah was the most active during the week. In a bid to minimise loses, he sold off LIC Housing Finance and added Century Textiles and Industries. At the same time, he booked profits in DLF. His top holding as of this week were Maruti Suzuki India, Reliance Industries, Wockhardt, United Spirits and Tech Mahindra. Badshah’s net worth is at Rs 12.09 lakh, up 20.91 per cent.
