Jeera up 1.49% on fresh export inquiries
Increased domestic demand helps price rise

Jeera prices rose 1.49% to Rs 16,480 per quintal in futures trade today on fresh buying by traders, triggered by fresh export enquiries and pick up in domestic demand against restricted arrivals.
Expectations of lower production this season following less rains also influenced jeera prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in September rose by Rs 242.50, or 1.49%, to Rs 16,480 per quintal, with an open interest of 11,328 lots.
September jeera moved up by Rs 247.50, or 1.48%, to Rs 16,930 per quintal in 19,749 lots.
Marketmen said besides fresh export enquiries, pick up in domestic demand pushed up jeera prices at futures trade.
