Lead down by 0.1% on muted demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices declined by 0.13% to Rs 113.20 per kg in futures trade today as participants reduced their positions amid a weak trend at the spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in November contract was down by 15 paise, or 0.13% to Rs 114.25 per kg in business turnover of five lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in October shed 10 paise, or 0.09% to trade at Rs 113.20 per kg in 174 lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall in lead futures to trimming of positions by speculators, triggered by a weak trend at domestic spot markets due to subdued demand but gains in base metals overseas, capped the losses.
