MCX bullion trade up

Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded a turnover of Rs 1645.96 crore and volumes of 13,063 kg in gold and 739,330 kg in silver in a single day on September 2004.

Besides, 11300 tonnes of refined soyoil, 1670t of pulses, 304t of kapas, 770 bales of long cotton and 10040t of wheat were among other commodities traded. The volumes ensured liquidity for in these commodities.

Jignesh Shah, managing director, MCX, said, "The new benchmark is testimony to the fact that more and more traders and investors are realizing the significance of a marketplace which is up to anticipation in terms of its trading, clearing & settlement mechanism."
