Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 15.40, or 1.11% to Rs 1,367.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid weak demand from consuming industries.
Adequate stocks position in the physical market following increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also fuelled the downtrend in mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the February contract fell by Rs 15.40, or 1.11% to Rs 1,367.10 per kg in business turnover of 10 lots.
The December contract declined by Rs 12.20, or 0.90% to Rs 1,350.70 per kg in 891 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit-booking by speculators after recent gains amid weak demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
