Nifty down 29pts; Maruti slips 4%

The NSE Nifty is down 29 points at 4,128.

Maruti has shed 3.6% at Rs 567. ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have dropped over 3% each to Rs 602 and Rs 168, respectively.

ITC and Hindalco have shed 2.7% each at Rs 178 and Rs 142, respectively.

TCS has slipped over 2% to Rs 856. Reliance and Infosys have declined 1.3% each to Rs 2,053 and Rs 1,799, respectively.

Satyam, Bharti Airtel and HDFC Bank are down over 1% each at Rs 477, Rs 739 and Rs 1,047, respectively.

NTPC, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Wipro are down 1% each at Rs 166, Rs 401, Rs 529 and Rs 430, respectively.

 

ACC has surged 3% to Rs 552, and Ambuja Cements has gained 2.5% at Rs 79.

Tata Steel has rallied 2.5% to Rs 695. DLF has moved up 2% to Rs 459.

HDFC has advanced 1.7% to Rs 2,131. Cipla and Reliance Infrastructure are up 1% each at Rs 212 and Rs 844, respectively.

The market breadth has turned positive - out of 2,566 stocks traded so far, 1,259 have advanced, 1,230 have declined and 80 are unchanged.
