Non-A group stocks on a roll, hit upper circuit

422 stocks from the B1, B2, S, T, TS and Z groups have hit the ceiling

One in six non-A group traded stocks on Tuesday hit upper limit of circuit filter in intra-day trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Of the 2,406 traded stocks, 422 stocks from the B1, B2, S, T, TS and Z group has hit the upper limit.
 
The BSE Smallcap index, which closed yesterday at a lifetime high of 5,524.12, was the biggest gainer, up 117.70 points (2.18 per cent) despite Sensex closing flat with 0.75 points gain at 7,768.24.
 
At close, 309 stocks closed at the upper limit of the circuit filter while 113 closed lower on account of profit booking. A total of 96 stocks each from B and T group, 46 from Z, 30 from S, 21 from B1 and 20 from TS group closed at the upper limit.
 
Nearly 71 stocks were frozen at 20 per cent upper limit, 151 stocks at 10 per cent limit and the remaining 87 were frozen at five per cent upper limit.
 
Hindustan Organic, Orient Abrasives, Lakshmi Mills, Sandesh, GMM Pfaudler, Supreme Industries, Morarjee Textiles, Sahara India Mass Communications, Oriental Containers, Shilpa Medicare and Alber David are closed at 20 per cent upper limit on BSE.
 
Hindustan Organic was the biggest gainer, appreciating 26.2 per cent today. The stock closed at Rs 53 from Friday close of Rs 42 on BSE.
 
Other gainers were Lakshmi Mills was up 20 per cent to Rs 1,355.85 (Rs 1,129.90), GMM Pfaudler to Rs 581.79 (Rs 484.85), Sahara India Mass Communications Rs 407.35 (Rs 339.50), Supreme Industries Rs 330.45 (Rs 275.39) and Sandesh Rs 206.75 (Rs 172.30).
 
Victoria Mills at Rs 1,570.60 (Rs 1,427.85), Cranes Software Rs 891.45 (Rs 811.85), Hikal Rs 667.95 (Rs 607.25), Gulf Oil Corporation Rs 560.10 (Rs 509.20), SIC Agencies Rs 307 (Rs 279.20) and Welcast Steel Rs 278.64 (Rs 253.35) are among few stocks that closed at 10 per cent higher than their previous day's close.
 
The market capitalisation of these stocks increased by 8 per cent (Rs 2,290 crore) from Rs 28,691 crore to Rs 30,981 crore yesterday.
 
Of 309 stocks, 108 closed at their all time high market price on BSE.
 
Astra Micro (Rs 2,591.15), Kaycee Industries (Rs 1,957.20), Gujarat Flurochemicals (Rs 1,940.10), Praj Industries (Rs 1,072.40), DCM Shriram Consolidated (Rs 846), Hyderabad Industries (Rs 555.05), Navin Fluorine (Rs 441.15), Hindustan National Glass (Rs 425.70) and Nalwa Sons (Rs 405) are few stocks closing at their lifetime highs on BSE yesterday.
