Only 15 sectors miss party

| Non-ferrous metals, cement, industrial explosives, mining, industrial gases and telephone cables are among the major gainers that hand held the Sensex in its journey from 11,000 to 12,000 points. |
| Of 119 sectors tracked by the Business Standard Research Bureau, as many as 104 sectors have reported gains while the remaining 15 sectors declined in the range of 1-7 per cent. |
| Of the 104 sectors, the market wealth of 11 sectors appreciated by over 20 per cent in last 16 trading days "� from March 27 when the Sensex closed above the 11,000 mark and today. The other thirty-two sectors gained in the range of 10-20 per cent and thirty-three sectors between 5-10 per cent. |
| Non-ferrous metals were the biggest gainers of the rally appreciating 67 per cent. The aggregate market value of 15 companies in this sector increased by Rs 29,139 crore "� from Rs 43,326 crore on March 27 to Rs 72,465 crore today. The market wealth of industrial explosives (60 per cent), mining (40 per cent), industrial gases (34 per cent), telephone cables (26 per cent) and cement (24 per cent) appreciated by over 20 per cent. |
| The market capitalisation of steel strips and bars, petrochemicals polymers, domestic appliances white goods, aluminium, sugar, leather products, alkalis and breweries gained in the range of 15-20 per cent. |
| In absolute terms, excluding non-ferrous metals, the market capitalisation of petrochemicals polymers (Rs 29,139 crore), information technology (Rs 25,936 crore), mining (Rs 13,994 crore), cement (Rs 13,669 crore), oil explorations (Rs 13,536 crore) and steel composites/ alloys (Rs10,358 crore increased by more than Rs 10,000 crore. |
| The market wealth of pharma, telecom and electronic general equipment rose between Rs 5,000 crore and Rs 10,000 crore and that of sugar, civil constructions, cigarettes, non-banking finance companies, personal care products, engineering and automobiles in the range of Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 5,000 crore. |
| Cycles and accessories (7 per cent), transmission line tower (3 per cent), paints (4 per cent), hospitals (3 per cent), inorganic chemicals (3 per cent) and food products (2 per cent) are among the prominent losers. |
