Potato prices fell by Rs 8.50 to Rs 759.80 per quintal in futures trade today on increased supplies against lower demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in April fell by Rs 8.50, or 1.11% to Rs 759.80 per quintal in business turnover of 47 lots.

The March contract shed Rs 5.40, or 0.69% to Rs 775.60 per quintal in 332 lots.

Traders attributed the fall in potato futures prices to increased supplies in the physical market against lower demand.
