Provisional: Sensex closes 100 points higher

It was the tenth session of consecutive gains for key stock indices as market remains hopeful of positive poll outcome.
Both Sensex and Nifty regained lost ground in closing deals after trimming initial gains during the day. They earlier touched record intra-day highs levels in initial trades.
