Tata Steel moved 2.7% higher after the company announced its results. Though profits crashed from Rs 5,294 crore in June 2011 to Rs 598 crore in June 2012 it is an improvement over the previous quarter which recorded a profit of Rs 433.5 crore. However, the market is upbeat on rising operating profit thanks only to better realisations in its European business.
