Sensex down 107pts; Infosys plunges 7%

| The Sensex is now down 107 points at 18,552. Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied over 3% each to Rs 3,481 and Rs 780, respectively. ONGC and Reliance Communications have surged 2.5% each to Rs 1,034 and Rs 742, respectively. BHEL has moved up 1.5% to Rs 2,365. ICICI Bank and Tata Motors are up around 1% each at Rs 1,079 and Rs 813, respectively. Infosys has plunged over 7% to Rs 1,973, and Satyam has slumped 6.7% to Rs 452. Wipro has tumbled over 4% to Rs 482, and TCS has shed 3.6% to Rs 1,084. Bharti Airtel is down over 1% at Rs 1,060. The market breadth is negative - out of 2,640 stocks traded so far, 1,394 have declined, 1,158 have advanced and 88 are unchanged. |
