Sensex down 140pts; Ranbaxy plunges 8%

The NSE Nifty is down 21 points at 4,028.

Ranbaxy has slumped 8% to Rs 489. Satyam and Infosys have plunged over 4.5% each to Rs 423 and Rs 1,600, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has dropped 3.6% to Rs 151. HDFC Ban has tumbled 3.4% to Rs 1,031.

Wipro has slipped 2.5% to Rs 402. ICICI Bank has declined 2% to Rs 580.

ONGC has rallied over 2% to Rs 868. ITC and Tata Motors have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 178 and Rs 407, respectively.
