Sensex down 162pts; Bharti, RCom slip 2%

The Sensex is now down 162 points at 14,483.

The NSE Nifty is down 39 points at 4,354.

Maruti has plunged 2.5% to Rs 625. ACC and Sterlite have shed 2.3% each at Rs 580 and Rs 597, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Bharti Airtel have slipped 2% each to Rs 404 and Rs 792, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Hindalco and Reliance Infrastructure have dropped 1.8% each to Rs 557, Rs 127 and Rs 955, respectively.

BHEL and HDFC have shed 1.6% each at Rs 1,668 and Rs 2,321, respectively.

Tata Power, Tata Motors and Tata Steel are down 1.3% each at Rs 1,007, Rs 420 and Rs 596, respectively.
