Sensex down 260pts; breadth -ve

The NSE Nifty is down 60 points at 5,076.

ITC has slumped nearly 5% to Rs 216.

Satyam and Infosys have plunged over 3.5% each to Rs 471 and Rs 1,778, respectively. TCS has tumbled over 3% to Rs 935, and Wipro has shed 2.2% at Rs 488.

ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have dropped over 3% each to Rs 890 and Rs 266, respectively. Larsen & Toubro has shed 2.7% at Rs 2,907.

HDFC Bank, Tata Motors and Reliance Energy have slipped around 2% each to Rs 1,513, Rs 666 and Rs 1,404, respectively.

Cipla has dropped 1.7% to Rs 211. SBI and ONGC are down over 1% each at Rs 1,746 and Rs 1,027, respectively.

 

ACC and Tata Steel have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 748 and Rs 838, respectively. Bharti Airtel is up 1% at Rs 824.

Out of 2,564 stocks traded so far, 1,646 have declined and 859 have advanced and 59 are unchanged.
