Sensex drops 284pts; Satyam slips over 4%

The NSE Nifty is down 68 points at 5,067.

Satyam Computers has plunged over 4.4% to Rs 468, and Infosys has slumped 3.7% to Rs 1,774. ICICI Bank, Wipro and ITC have shed over 3% each to Rs 882, Rs 484 and Rs 220, respectively.

TCS, Jaiprakash Associates and Reliance Energy have declined 2.8% each to Rs 938, Rs 267 and Rs 1,398, respectively.

HDFC Bank and Larsen & Toubro have slipped 2% each to Rs 1,508 and Rs 2931, respectively.

Tata Motors and DLF have shed over 1.5% to Rs 668 and Rs 641, respectively.

Ranbaxy, BHEL, Maruti & SBI are down 1% each.

 

Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications and ACC have gained over 1% each to Rs 826, Rs 547 and Rs 746, respectively.
