Sensex down 557pts; ICICI Bank slips 6%

The Sensex is now down 557 points at 10,927.

Reliance Infrastrucuture has slumped 11.5% to Rs 560, and Reliance Communications has plunged 10.7% to Rs 240.

Larsen & Toubro and Jaiprakash Associates have tumbled around 9% each to Rs 910 and Rs 77, respectively.

Sterlite and Tata Steel have shed around 7.5% each at Rs 300 and Rs 282, respectively.

ICICI Bank has slipped 5.7% to Rs 417. HDFC and BHEL have dropped over 5.5% each to Rs 1,735 and Rs 1,405, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Hindalco have declined over 5% each to Rs 725 and Rs 81, respectively. Tata Motors is down 4.8% at Rs 285.

 

The market breadth is extremely negative - out of 2,528 stocks traded so far, 2,045 have declined, 440 have advanced and 43 are unchanged.
