Sensex drops 83pts, HDFC slips 6%

The Sensex has declined 83 points (0.9%) to 9,289.

HDFC has slipped 6% (Rs 77) to Rs 1,211. HDFC Bank is now down 2.4% (Rs 18) at Rs 725.

Tata Steel has dropped over 2% (Rs 8) to Rs 373.

HLL has slipped 1.4% (Rs 3) to Rs 192. While Reliance is down Rs 11 at Rs 844, SBI has declined Rs 11 to Rs 899.

Auto and cement scrips are also trading with losses.

Wipro is up Rs 5 at Rs 465. Infosys and TCS are trading with marginal gains.

L&T has added Rs 10 to Rs 1,742.

Declines are ahead of advances - out of 2,432 scrips traded, 1,504 have declined, 837 have moved up and 91 are unchanged.
