Sensex ends down 56pts

The Sensex closed (provisional) at 14,366 , down 56 points.

The Sensex has touched a low of 14,261and is now down 98 points at 14,324.

The BSE Oil & Gas and Auto indices are down 2.4% each.

Tata Motors has slumped 6% to Rs 335.

ONGC, BHEL, Maruti and Mahindra & Mahindra have tumbled over 3.7% each  to Rs 1,010, Rs 2,108, Rs 1,020 and Rs 697, respectively.

NTPC and Sun Pharma were down 3% each at Rs 192 and Rs 1,305, respectively.

While HDFC is up 3% at Rs 2,381.

The market breadth is marginally  positive, out of 2,673 shares traded, 1,388 have advanced and 1,206 have declined so far on the BSE.
