Sensex off day's low; breadth +ve

The Sensex after touching a low of 8,697, has recovered partially and is now down 17 points at 8,740. Earlier in the day, the index opened 37 points higher at 8,793, and touched a high of 8,828.
Mahindra & Mahindra has soared over 5% to Rs 363. Jaiprakash Associates has surged 4.3% to Rs 74.
Ranbaxy has gained 2.5% at Rs 142, and Tata Motors has rallied over 2% to Rs 165.
SBI and Bharti Airtel have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 971 and Rs 569, respectively. DLF has added 1.3% to Rs 155.
Reliance Infrastructure has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 449. Sun Pharma has tumbled nearly 3% to Rs 994.

Maruti and Reliance Communications have shed 2.5% each at Rs 694 and Rs 143, respectively.
Hindalco and HDFC have dropped 2% each to Rs 42 and Rs 1,353, respectively.
Infosys has declined 1.5% to Rs 1,278. Grasim, ONGC and Tata Power are down 1% each at Rs 1,477, Rs 698 and Rs 656, respectively.
The market breadth is positive - out of 2,125 stocks traded so far, 1,150 have advanced, 897 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
