Sensex recovers, down 89pts; ITC up 3%

The Sensex is now down 89 points at 11,196, having recovered from the day's low of 10,973. Earlier in the day,  the index opened at 11,358, and touched a high of 11,367.
 
Tata Motors has plunged 9% to Rs 257. Reliance Infrastructure has tumbled 7% to Rs 663.

Tata Steel has slumped 6% to Rs 276. Ranbaxy and Jaiprakash Associates have shed over 5% each at Rs 189 and Rs 117, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and ONGC have dropped 4% each to Rs 839 and Rs 860, respectively. DLF, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hindalco have gone down 3% each.

 

On the other hand, Wipro has rallied 4% to Rs 280. ITC has moved up over 3% to Rs 191.

Maruti Suzuki has gained 3% to Rs 871. Sun Pharma has added 2.5% to Rs 1,241.

Hindustan Unilever is up 2% at Rs 240. Infosys and Grasim have also advanced.

The market breadth is now fairly negative. Out of 2,585 stocks traded so far, 1,568 have declined, and 946 have advanced.
