Sensex slips back into red, down 43pts

| The Sensex after touching a high of 10,777 has slipped back into the negative zone. The index is now down 43 points at 10,701. Reliance Communications has slipped 2.3% to Rs 257. HDFC Bank has dropped 2% to Rs 779. Maruti, SBI and Cipla have dropped over 1.5% each to Rs 773, Rs 798 and Rs 233, respectively. ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Gujarat Ambuja and Dr.Reddy's are down 1% each to Rs 547, Rs 732, Rs 104 and Rs 1,385, respectively. BHEL has gained 1.4% at Rs 2,074. NTPC is up nearly 1% at Rs 116. The market breadth has turned negative - out of 1,787 stocks traded so far, 919 have declined, 814 have advanced and 54 are unchanged. |
