Sensex soars past 11K, up 162pts

The Sensex continues to soar higher and is now up 162 points at 11,038.

Ranbaxy has surged 4.5% to Rs 395.

HDFC and Reliance Energy have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 1,222 and Rs 469, respectively.

Infosys and Larsen & Toubro have rallied 2% each to Rs 1,698 and Rs 2,315, respectively.

HLL, Reliance Communications, Maruti, Hindalco and ICICI Bank are the other major gainers.

There are no losers among the index stocks.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 1,929 stocks traded, 1,481 have advanced, 391 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
