Sensex steady; HDFC zooms 7%

The NSE Nifty is up seven points at 3,954.

HDFC has zoomed 7% to Rs 2,020. ICICI Bank has soared 5.7% to Rs 583, and HDFC Bank has surged 5.3% to Rs 1,009.

Cipla has rallied over 3% to Rs 219. Reliance Infrastructure has gained 2.8% at Rs 829.

BHEL has advanced 2.4% to Rs 1,487, and DLF has added 2% to Rs 436.

SBI and Tata Motors have gained 1.7% each at Rs 1,249 and Rs 419, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and ONGC are up 1.5% each at Rs 151 and Rs 917, respectively.

Satyam has slumped 8% to Rs 381, and Wipro has tumbled 5% to Rs 361. TCS has shed 3.8% at Rs 750. Infosys has dropped 3.4% to Rs 1,530.

 

Tata Steel has slipped 3.5% to Rs 587. Ranbaxy has declined 2.7% to Rs 440.

ACC and Hindustan Unilever are down over 1% eac at Rs 533 and Rs 218, respectively.
