Sensex up 131pts; ICICI Bank soars 6%

The NSE Nifty is up 20 points at 3,967.

ICICI Bank has soared 6% to Rs 585, and HDFC Bank has surged 4% to Rs 998. HDFC has moved up 3.4% to Rs 1,953.

Jaiprakash Associates and BHEL have rallied over 2% each to Rs 152 and Rs 1,482, respectively.

Cipla has gained 1.5% at Rs 215, and Tata Motors has added 1.3% to Rs 417.

Reliance Infrastructure, SBI and Larsen & Toubro are up over 1% each at Rs 816, Rs 1,240 and Rs 2,464, respectively.

Ranbaxy has shed 2% at Rs 443.

ACC, Wipro, Tata Steel and Ambuja Cements have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 529, Rs 373, Rs 597 and Rs 80, respectively.

 

TCS has declined 1.3% to Rs 769. Maruti and Hindustan Unilever are down almost 1% each at Rs 594 and Rs 218, respectively.
