Sensex up 144pts; ONGC surges 5%

The NSE Nifty is up 43 points at 4,520.

ONGC has surged nearly 5% to Rs 1,043. Bharti Airtel has rallied nearly 4% to Rs 848.

Reliance Infrastructure has advanced 3.5% to Rs 1,049. Jaiprakash Associates and HDFC Bank have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 177 and Rs 1,235, respectively.

Ambuja Cements and DLF have gained 2.3% each at Rs 86 and Rs 507, respectively.

Reliance Communications is up 2% at Rs 536.

Wipro, Infosys and TCS have slipped 2% each to Rs 399, Rs 1,570 and Rs 841, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever is down 1.4% at Rs 228.
