Sensex up 160pts; Mid, Small-cap indices up 2%

The Sensex is now up 160 points at 11,473.

The BSE Mid-cap and Small-cap indices are up over 2% each to 4819 and 5820, respectively.

Hero Honda has surged 4.6% to Rs 713. HDFC Bank has advanced over 3% to Rs 832. Hindalco has added 2.5% to Rs 171.

Ranbaxy, Wipro, ICICI Bank, SBI, Tata Motors, TCS and ONGC have gained over 2% each at Rs 402, Rs 523, Rs 591, Rs 891, Rs 818, Rs 984 and Rs 1,238, respectively.

Out of 2,348 stocks traded so far, 1,833 have advanced, 457 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
