Sensex up 171pts; Hero Honda gains 4%

The Sensex is now up 171 points at 11,484.

Hero Honda has rallied over 4% to Rs 711. HDFC Bank has advanced over 3% to Rs 832.

Hindalco and Wipro have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 171 and Rs 523, respectively.

SBI, Satyam, Ranbaxy, TCS, Tata Motors and ONGC have moved up around 2% each to Rs 892, Rs 790, Rs 400, Rs 984, Rs 817 and Rs 1,237, respectively.

Out of 2,256 stocks traded so far, 1,778 have advanced, 433 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
