Sensex up 232pts in early trades

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 137 points at 8,481. The index is now up 232 points at 8,575.

ICICI Bank has soared nearly 6% to Rs 301. HDFC has surged 5.5% to Rs 1,353.

Tata Motors and DLF have rallied 4.7% each to Rs 153 and Rs 143, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance, Reliance Communications and Sterlite have moved up around 3.5% each to Rs 458, Rs 1,245, Rs 143 and Rs 271, respectively.

Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Steel are up around 3% each at Rs 1,267, Rs 340 and Rs 161, respectively.
