Sensex up 360pts; HDFC Bank surges 8.5%

The Sensex after opening on a flat note at 15,168, touched a high of 15,508 and is now moving sideways. The index is now at 15,492, up 365 points.

HDFC Bank has soared 8.5% to Rs 1,537.

Larsen & Toubro and Tata Power have added over 4% each to Rs 1,645 and Rs 1,186, respectively.

Tata Steel, Sterlite, Mahindra& Mahindra, Reliance Infrastructures, ACC, HDFC, Wipro, Relaince Communications, Hindalco and Hindustan Unilever advanced 2-4% each.

TCS, Infosys and Sun Pharma are the losers so far on the BSE.
