Sensex up 71pts; HDFC down 2%

The Nifty is trading 36 points higher at 4911.

Wipro is up 3.7% at Rs 496. ITC has advanced 3.6% to Rs 213.

Reliance Communications and Jaiprakash Associates have gained 3% at Rs 560 and Rs 231 respectively.

Reliance Infra and Satyam are up 2.6% at Rs 1,283 and Rs 495 respectively.

Ambuja Cements, Bhel, NTPC, Cipla, DLF, Reliance, L&T and Ranbaxy are the other gainers.

HDFC is down 2% at Rs 2,522. HDFC Bank is down 1.8% to Rs 1,323.

SBI has declined 1.7% at Rs 1,511. ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, ONGC and Infosys are the other major losers.
