Sensex up 8pts; Reliance, ITC shine

The Sensex is now up eight points at 11,715.

Ranbaxy has surged 2.5% to Rs 405. Grasim has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 2,266.

Reliance and ITC have moved up 1.5% each to Rs 1,133 and Rs 187, respectively.

ACC, Tata Motors, Dr.Reddy's, SBI, Maruti and HDFC have advanced around 1% each to Rs 924, Rs 856, Rs 720, Rs 931, Rs 863 and Rs 1,302, respectively.

Tata Steel has slipped 1.7% to Rs 508. Reliance Energy and NTPC have shed around 1.5% each to Rs 442 and Rs 126, respectively.

Reliance Communications and Hindalco are down 1% each to Rs 306 and Rs 174, respectively.

Out of 2,580 stocks traded so far, 1,447 have declined, 1,063 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
