Sensex up 92pts in early trades

The Sensex today opened up 45 points at 14,831. The index surged to a high of 14,907.

The Sensex is now up 92 points at 14,878.

Tata Steel has gained 2.5% at Rs 407. Sun Pharma and NTPC have added 2% each to Rs 1,124 and Rs 201, respectively.

Sterlite has advanced 1.8% to Rs 658. ONGC, Jaiprakash Associates, Hero Honda, HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro, DLF, BHEL, Tata Power and Grasim have also moved up.
