Sensex up around 100pts; RCom adds 2.5%

The Sensex slipped into the negative zone to touch a low of 14,509 for a brief period. However the index recovered and is now at 14,600, up 78 points.

The BSE oil & Gas index is down 1.5% at 9,246.

Reliance Communications has gained 2.5% at Rs 313.

Jaiprakash Associates , DLF and ICICI Bank have added over 1.5% each to Rs 204, Rs 337 and Rs 726, respectively.

ACC, BHEL and HDFC are up over 1% each at Rs 761,Rs 2,119 and Rs 2,321, respectively.

ONGC has slipped 3% to Rs 979.

NTPC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sun Pharma, Hindalco and Reliance are down over 1% each.

 

The market breadth is postive - out of 1,818 shares traded, 1,057 have advanced and 704 have declined so far on the BSE.
