Silver prices fell from record high and lost Rs 83 to Rs 34,711 per kg in futures trade today on reduced offtake and fall in demand at higher levels.

Weakening trend in Asian region also influenced the trading sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for December declined by Rs 83, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 34,711 per kg, with an open interest of single lot.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July-month weakened by Rs 19, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 35,123 per kg, with an open interest of one lot.

Marketmen said reduced offtake on fall in demand in the spot market at existing higher levels and weakening trend in Asian region mainly led to a decline in silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver lost 0.90 per cent to $23.07 an ounce in Asian region.
