Sugar mills pulled up for defaulting on export deals

The government reaction came following a complaint by Cargill, Renuka Sugars and Indian Sugar Exim Corporation (ISEC), all of which made contracts with the mills.  Representatives of these mills were called for a meeting on Wednesday by the food department. In the meeting, chaired by the Joint Secretary (Sugar), the government insisted on mills to honour the export contracts that they had entered, said industry sources.
